Wear the Ear Muffs to Protect Your Ear

Have you ever worn the ear muffs? If you are in a noisy environment or in a cold area, ear muffs could be your savior! They can protect your ears from hearing losses or frostbite. Designed to cover a person's ears for protection, they consist of a thermoplastic or metal head-band, which fits over the top of the head, and a pad at each end, to cover the external ears.
There are two kinds of ear muffs nowadays. The first one is thermal ear muffs, worn in cold environments to keep a person's ears warm. Another one is acoustic ear muffs, also known as ear defenders. This kind of ear muffs equipped with sound-deadening material, like thermal earmuffs and headphones in appearance, which are worn as hearing protection. Ear defenders protect the wearer from extreme noises. The head band and outer covering is usually made from a hard thermoplastic or metal. The protection usually comes from acoustic foam—this absorbs sound waves by increasing air resistance, thus reducing the amplitude of the waves.
So, next time when you travel to a freezing country or visit a noisy factory, don’t forget to bring you ear muffs!
